OHIP Eligibility

Physiotherapy services are fully covered by OHIP at this Clinic if you are:

• 19 years of age or younger.

• 65 years of age or older.

• hospitalized for a condition requiring Physiotherapy treatment (eg. Hip or Knee replacement, stroke, etc.), regardless of age.

• qualified with the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) or Ontario Works regardless of age.

OHIP funding for time-limited, goal-oriented Physiotherapy service must be condition and diagnosis specific. Physiotherapy services are for Initial Assessment, Diagnosis, and treatment.

The physiotherapy services funded under this program are intended to address a new injury, fall, accident or surgery, or situations where symptoms/conditions have become increasingly worse, leading to decreased function or mobility.  Treatment which is aimed at assisting a patient to maintain an existing level of function is not covered by this program.
